Russian green mottle mosaic virus suppressed with Huw-San

The recruitment of our highly skilled and experienced Technical Sales specialist Evgeniy Serdega at the start of 2020 and the recent forging of strategic local partnerships are just a few examples of how we’re upgrading our presence and support within this region.

A recent, successful Huwa-San project was with one of the largest fresh vegetable producers in Russia. This prestigious client has a year round cultivation of ecologically-clean vegetables that are renowned for the highest quality standards in the industry. At the start of this year, they were experiencing virus problems in their greenhouse cucumber crops with an outbreak of ‘Cucumber Green Mottle Mosaic Virus (CGMMV)’. This aggressive virus caused some significant problems that resulted in an approximate 80% infection rate of the crop.

The impact of water quality on cucumber production

The company contacted Roam Technology and Evgeniy quickly met with them to discuss how we could help solve this problem as soon as possible. Immediately, a full site assessment was produced and the necessary water samples were taken and analysed by an independent laboratory. Based on these results, a detailed action plan was developed, in which the various applications of Huwa-San TR-50 were used in a targeted and efficient manner. Meticulous guidelines and protocols were designed and provided by Roam Technology, ensuring the client and their on-site teams always used Huwa-San TR-50 correctly, unlocking the product’s full potential to solve the infection problems.

The Roam Technology team, and especially Evgeniy, has really helped us out tremendously. Their technical and scientific support is unlike anything we’ve ever experienced.

Once these protocols were in place and the use of Huwa-San TR-50 was fully implemented into the day to day activities of the grower, the cucumber contamination rate was reduced to a minimum. This has made a huge difference in both the quality and the yield, ensuring the impact of the virus has been controlled and the client is fully supported.
