Roam Technology creates effective and sustainable disinfection solutions for various applications such as horticulture, livestock, healthcare and more. The family-owned company’s headquarter, its new state-of-the-art production facility and main distribution centre are based in Genk, Belgium.
In 1984, Jos Roebben founded a company, specialising in the production and distribution of water treatment chemicals. Roam Chemie NV was born.
In 1995, Roam Chemie NV moved to the industrial zone of Houthalen for expansion.
Being active in the world of disinfection, Jos Roebben came across a new generation of disinfection technology. This most advanced disinfection technology was further developed by Roam Chemie over the next couple of years. This formula was called: “Huwa-San disinfection technology”.
The importance of Huwa-San as an ecological disinfectant grew rapidly, which resulted in an important strategic re-orientation. The business unit “ecological disinfection” was separated off and Roam Technology was created to expand further. The “traditional water treatment chemicals” unit was sold to an external party, which continued using Roam Chemie as its company name.
In order to cope with the growth of the Huwa-San technology, the company moved to a new and bigger location in Genk. Starting from scratch, Roam Technology was able to rebuild according to the highest standards.
In 2018, Roam Technology successfully made the transition to the new ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016 standards, ensuring our compliance with the newest production standards for medical devices. We also won the province of Limburg Export Award 2018. We were selected as winner within the category of companies with less than 50 employees, thanks to our strong focus on export and innovation.
In order to enable our further growth in the future, Roam Technology expanded its existing office and production site in Genk (BE) early 2020 with an additional location in Beringen (BE).
Although our move to Genk took place only a few years, our rapid growth necessitated this expansion with a new and modern space of 800 m2.
