Roam Technology’s Technical Sales, Angus Niven, initiated dialogue with Brian Duggan and Denis Kenny at Goldcrop in December 2025. He focused on the dynamics of the Irish horticultural market and the key challenges and opportunities facing growers in the region. helped identify clear opportunities where Irish growers were seeking to strengthen hygiene and biosecurity protocols to safeguard vegetable cultivation.

Since then, Angus has conducted multiple site visits alongside Brian and Denis, from assessing high-tech greenhouse cultivation systems to outdoor carrot farming. He engaged directly with growers, assessing on-farm conditions, and delivering tailored technical horticultural advice.

Several successful projects have already been completed, including disinfection of irrigation systems – such as hydroponic continuous dosing and outdoor irrigation systems used for leafy salad crops, which are considered high risk from a food safety perspective. These projects have been delivered through close collaboration, and their outcomes have played a vital role in enhancing biosecurity measures and reducing the risk of food safety incidents.
