Maintaining a clean and disinfected greenhouse to minimise the risk of introducing and spreading harmful pathogens, is one of the main challenges growers face. Therefore, an intensive hygiene protocol, including in-depth cleaning and powerful disinfection, should be implemented in the greenhouse operating standards. Now that we’ve added Virba-San to our product range, we’ve updated our hygienic protocol for crop rotation to make it even more effective.

Crop rotation not only halts the spread of pathogens in your greenhouse, it also lowers the risk of outbreaks, both new and recurring. A solid protocol comes down to two crucial steps: thorough cleaning and disinfection.

Effective crop rotation begins with a thorough cleaning, which is essential for successful disinfection. Removing plant debris and organic matter eliminates hotspots for harmful microbes. Using a detergent is key, and Roam Eco Clean’s active foam formula accelerates this step by breaking down dirt and residue, ensuring your greenhouse is ready for the next phase. Disinfection: The Next Step to Lasting Protection

After cleaning, disinfection must be carried out. This requires a registered biocidal product, ideally active against bacteria, viruses, fungi ánd spores.

For outstanding water hygiene, Huwa-San TR-50 is the perfect match. Thanks to its unique stabilisation method, Huwa-San retains its power throughout the entire water system.  The powerful, oxidising effect of Huwa-San TR-50 causes a severe detrimental effect on pathogens, killing over 99,99% of microorganisms. Additionally, Huwa-San degrades to just oxygen and water post disinfection, leaving no harmful residuals. The product also has the benefit that it can be measured and controlled in the irrigation system, making sure the product is effective.

Powerful surface disinfection

Virba-San, on the other hand, can be used for powerful surface disinfection. It is a powerful disinfectant that effectively eliminates
bacteria, viruses, yeasts, and fungi, meeting the strictest EN standards. Virba-San’s potent oxidising properties ensure impeccable hygiene and its fast-acting formula provides long-lasting protection. Virba-San is a stable product composed of biodegradable potassium monopersulfate, acids and surfactants. This makes it a sustainable solution that can deliver powerful results, while not compromising biosecurity.

Make sure to use the correct dosage and contact time with both Huwa-San TR-50 and Virba-San, as these parameters are defined according to standardised tests to produce an optimal outcome.
