Virox owes its powerful antimicrobial effect to the combinations of potassium peroxymonosulphate as an active ingredient combined with surfactants and acids. First, it benefits from the oxidising properties of the biodegradable active compound potassium peroxymonosulphate. Upon contact with water, radicals are formed that effectively target microorganisms. The addition of a surfactant not only dissolves dirt and grease but also improves the oxidising action by enhancing the cell permeability of microorganisms. Lastly, the addition of acids aids in removal of  limescale and rust.
